What Inspires Me ...

It all started back in the 90's when I was living in San Francisco. I was invited to a cocktail party where to my pleasant surprise, Champagne was the libation of choice. There was no specific celebration at hand, just a celebration of life. What fun! Being in my mid 20's I had not yet learned to appreciate the tiny bubbles ... but this has since changed. (Thank goodness!) One of the guests removed the "cage" from one of the many bottles and twisted the wires into a tiny little chair! I was amazed ... and intrigued.

Since then, I have been making these chairs for friends and family as mementos of the many good times we've shared. What began as rather rudimentary twisted wire creations done "on-site" ... has evolved into much more elaborate designs with beads, crystals and gems, which allow me to personalize each piece. I'm totally inspired by the celebration that Champagne invokes in my friends and loved ones, and I hope and imagine it to be the same for everyone that sips a glass of this remarkable elixir.

I am motivated by many things when I create a Champagne Chair. Each custom piece is most definitely inspired by the event and the people that have shared in the celebration. Sometimes the top itself is all the inspiration needed ... like the Veuve Clicquot cage with the portrait of Madame Clicquot herself ... she looks so grand. Every single chair is a handmade piece of art.

When I present you with your Champagne Chair I hope that it inspires joy within you and evokes memories of the happiest times spent with your friends and loved ones.
